Snow Scenics
These are a few scenes right after a snow storm a couple of days ago. Most of these were converted to black and white.

Hi Clint and Naomi,
I guess these photo’s were taken in New York State ? It looked exactly the same here in Yorkshire England last year, we had an exceptionally cold spell in November, with more snow than we had seen for a long time, roads iced up and unpassable, people having to dig their cars out, schools not open, airports closing, trains not running, but inspite of all that, dosn’t it look beautiful !!!!
Are you finding many birds around at the moment ? we have many lakes around our area but unfortunately they are all iced over and the wildlife are heading out to the rivers as it’s the only area for them to access till it thaws again. But on saying that, we are inundated with garden birds on the feeders, 3 robins all together this morning, very strange, a pied wagtail blue tits, great tits, long tailed tits, goldfinches, blackbirds, starlings, pigeons, ring necked doves, song thrush, rooks, and of course the sparrows.
We are looking forward to the spring when we can get out and about again and take their pictures. All the Best Gloria and Brian ( the university birders)

Gloria and Brian,
Yes, the snow photos were taken right near our house. We have been pummeled with snow this past month. We are in the middle of another big one right now. We actually just got back from England yesterday night. We went over for our son’s wedding - we only got to stay for 3 days. It was a bit chilly where we were (Woking), but no snow. We got to see our first Goldfinch which is very different from our American Goldfinch and I was lucky enough to get a good photo.
Birds have been scarce around here this winter. The usual visitors have been missing. We have some at our feeders (Northern Cardinals, lots of American Goldfinches, a few Juncos, Titmice, and Mourning Doves mostly) but we don’t see many others. We are also looking forward to Spring and the return of many more birds.
Thanks for keeping in touch.
Clint and Naomi
