Vischer’s Ferry

I spent 2 hours at Vischer’s Ferry Nature Preserve this morning taking photos of some of the birds. As soon as I got out of my car there were two Sandhill Cranes flying directly overhead. I barely had time to snap a couple of shots of them. Swallows are very fast flyers and move somewhat erratically, which made it quite difficult to get any in focus flight photos. A few were decently sharp - I am actually surprised that ANY of them turned out. Here are some of the photos from this morning…

Clint, we are thinking of buying a camera and lens for bird photography. Your photos are so spectacular! What do you use for these great photos?

  2. Clint says:

Jim, I glad you enjoyed the photos. I use a Canon 50D camera body with a Canon 400mm 5.6 lens. The relatively light weight combo is excellent for birds in flight and the lens is very, very sharp.

I always enjoy seeing your good work Clint :)

Thanks, Steve! It is always a pleasure to hear from you.
