Fall Flicker

There were Northern Flickers out and about on our walk this fine Fall morning. I thought they would have all gone south by now - but I was wrong. I got a couple of photos of one at the base of a tree - I love the Autumn colors in the background. This is a male flicker (note the mustache). So here he is…a Flicker in fine fall form.
In this frontal shot you can see his black bib as well as his mustache.
This is my favorite pose he struck for me
There was also a mostly full moon just setting behind the last of the Autumn foliage
